Description
Tucson Medical Center, Safe Kids Pima County and the Governor's Office of Highway Safety are partnering to offer free car seats to those in need. This program utilizes a free online car seat safety course created by the National Highway Traffic System Association and the National Safety Council. The course is self-paced and takes about 60 minutes to complete. At this time, the course is only offered in English.
During the course, you will learn to keep children safe in cars as they grow by completing all modules on rear-facing and forward-facing car seat use, as well as booster seat and seat belt use. Child safety seats are provided at the completion of the entire class to those individuals who don’t currently have a seat or have one that is outdated, recalled by the manufacturer, involved in a collision, with inadequate and/or missing parts, or their child has outgrown.
**Note** We only provide convertible car seats for children birth to 50lbs or booster seats for children 4 years old and who weigh at least 40lbs. We do not provide rear-facing only car seats otherwise known as infant carriers. Additionally, we do not ship car seats. All seats must be picked up following the directions given at the completion of the course.
